Nick Barat makes his debut as a writer / director with the short film <a href="https://vimeo.com/1124866880"><i>Packages</i></a>, a new evolution after two decades working in music and culture (as a producer and DJ, graphic designer, co-founder of <a href="https://www.foolsgoldrecs.com" target="_blank">Fool's Gold Records</a> and an editor at The FADER
Magazine) and a love of movies since childhood.

In 2007, Nick teamed up with A-Trak to start Fool's Gold, the beloved Brooklyn
institution that introduced artists like Danny Brown, Kid Cudi and Run The Jewels to the world. With a DIY reach well beyond streams, Nick and the FG team built their own
<a href="https://foolsgoldrecs.com/dayoff" target="_blank">DAY OFF</a> festival series (a debut showcase for Post Malone, Travis Scott, A$AP Rocky and more), two brick-and-mortar retail stores, and merch collabs and events
with Complex, Bushmills, Vans and many others.

Along with his <a href="https://smarturl.it/beatsbynick" target="_blank">original music</a> (as heard in Apple Watch ads and episodes of <i>Broad City</i>),
Nick has remixed artists from Lizzo to Linkin Park while creating mixtapes with Wale,
Mark Ronson and more. He's DJed clubs, parties and festivals worldwide including
Lollapalooza, EDC, Electric Zoo, HARD Fest, Holy Ship!, The Do-Over, Boiler Room, MoMA PS1's Warm Up and
Coachella's Heineken House.

Nick's logo and design work has graced projects for Converse, Topps, Mad Decent and countless Fool's Gold releases. His tenure at The FADER included cover features on Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, Jenny

Based in NYC, Nick is currently submitting <i>Packages</i> to film festivals while developing original narrative and unscripted film projects as a writer / director and creative collaborator,
including Cash App's <i>Wanna Buy A</i> series with <a href="https://c47creative.com/" target="_blank">C47</a> featuring T-Pain and more. (He still does the other stuff too.)
